Getafe President Asserts That Mason Greenwood is Unlikely to Return to Manchester United
Getafe club president Angel Torres has shared his insights on Mason Greenwood's tenure with the Spanish club, indicating that the English footballer is unlikely to return to Manchester United. Greenwood was loaned to Getafe for the 2023/24 season after being suspended by Manchester United following serious charges, which were eventually dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Manchester United's change of controllership to INEOS and Greenwood's dedicated performance for Getafe are said to contribute factors orbiting his long-term future. Greenwood has scored 10 goals in 32 appearances in diverse roles for Getafe. His expressive showings on the field have led the club to aim to finish in the top half of La Liga.

The Getafe president stated that if it were up to Greenwood, his family, and Getafe, they would opt for an extension of Greenwood's stay in Spain. Regarding Manchester United, he shared that news from a recent meet with Manchester United officials suggests that they would prefer to sell Greenwood if a suitable offer is proposed, as he is not expected to return there.

Torres praised the player's rejuvenation at Getafe, following a lengthy 16-month lapse of gameplay before his arrival. Greenwood scored eight league goals and two in the Copa del Rey, receiving commendation from the team's coach and fans, who are very pleased with him. Torres is therefore optimistic that Greenwood will continue with the club for another season, or at least till January of the following year, citing Greenwood's undeniable talent as a footballer.
