Manchester United official: Club CEO Richard Arnold resigns
Richard Arnold has been working at Manchester United since 2007 and took over as the team's new CEO in 2022, succeeding Woodward. According to previous reports, this top-level change is a chain reaction to Ratcliffe and his Ineos group investing in Manchester United.

Patrick Stewart will assume the role of interim CEO and will also serve as the Chief Legal Officer. Arnold will continue to provide transitional support to the club until the end of December. During this period, the club will begin the recruitment process for a new permanent CEO.

Team owner Glazer stated, "I want to thank Richard for his outstanding contributions to Manchester United over the past 16 years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. As we begin the search for a new permanent CEO, we are fortunate to have Patrick Stewart to provide temporary stability for the company."

Outgoing CEO Richard Arnold expressed, "It has been an incredible honor to serve this great football club over the past 16 years. Through highs and lows, our staff and fans have been dedicated. I want to thank everyone for their loyalty and commitment, and wish everyone at the club the very best in the future."

Interim CEO Patrick Stewart stated, "Working with my leadership team and colleagues, my job will be to ensure the stable operation of the club's foundations. We accept reforms that can make us stronger both on and off the field, and support the search for a new permanent CEO."

Under Arnold's tenure, Manchester United experienced three transfer windows - the summer window and winter window of 2022 and the summer window of 2023. In these three windows, Manchester United's net spending exceeded 400 million euros, signing players such as Anthony, Munt, Høyland, Casemiro, Martinez, and others. Additionally, Arnold is considered a key decision-maker in refusing Greenwood's return to the first team.

Interim CEO Stewart joined Manchester United in 2006, becoming the club's Chief Legal Officer, overseeing the club's legal and regulatory affairs, and managing relationships with major stakeholders such as the Premier League. He was appointed as a member of the Manchester United board at the end of 2022.
