Amadou Onana eyed as Frenkie de Jong replacement
According to a report from SPORT, Amadou Onana has been shortlisted as a potential Frenkie de Jong replacement. It is thought the Everton midfielder is viewed in high-regard by the Barcelona hierarchy, but they won't be short of competition.
Arsenal are also showing a keen interest in bringing Amadou Onana in, so it remains to be seen whether he would prefer to remain in the Premier League, or take his next step by moving to La Liga.
Ilkay Gundogan hails Xavi as his reason for joining Barcelona
The summer signing Ilkay Gundogan has hailed the departing Xavi as his reason for joining Barcelona.
Quoted by Barca Universal, Gundogan said: "[Xavi] was fundamental for me to come to Barcelona. If the conversations we had would have been different, I wouldn’t be here. He made the difference. I am very grateful to him.”
