Toni Kroos Announces Comeback to German National Team Ahead of European Championships
Real Madrid's distinguished midfielder, Toni Kroos has decided to rejoin the German national team just in time for this summer's European Championships. The 34-year-old took to social media to confirm his intent to exit retirement and once again don his country's colors. This decision stems from an invite extended by Germany's manager, Julian Nagelsmann, for the national team's roster during the March international break.

Germany is set to face two friendly confrontations with France and the Netherlands on March 23rd and March 26th in Frankfurt, respectively, where Kroos is expected to feature. Expressing his excitement for his return, Kroos said, "I’m in the mood, and I'm sure that with the team at the European Championship, much more is possible than most believe right now!"

This announcement comes post his hiatus from international football to prioritize family time and maintain high performing levels at club level with Madrid. Here, he is reconsidering his retirement from international duties, which he confirmed during a press conference in Germany, prior to Real Madrid's Champions League last-16 first leg tie against RB Leipzig.

With 106 international caps to his name, Kroos was part of the triumphant German conglomerate that lifted the 2014 World Cup. His decorated acquisition of 'Man of the Match' in their semi-final showdown with Brazil and the final against Argentina, securing a 1-0 win, remains etched in the annals of the tournament. Reflecting his exemplary performance, Kroos was part of the team of the tournament during the Euro 2016 championships, with Germany being eliminated in the semi-finals by France.

Amidst this development, Kroos yet deliberates on his future with Real Madrid. The club has assured him of his contract renewal, expiring this June 30, whenever he decides. A stalwart in Madrid's illustrious midfield and Germany's coveted playmaker, Kroos's comeback could serve as an invigorating addition to a rejuvenated German side, ahead of the grand European Championships.
