Persib Bandung Routinely Shut Out PSIS Semarang, Clear 3-0 Win Acknowledged by Opposition Manager
In a crucial week 26 event of the 2023-2024 Liga 1, Persib Bandung resoundingly beat PSIS Semarang 3-0 in a game held at Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung. PSIS' head coach, Gilbert Agius, acknowledged that Bandung showcased superior gameplay compared to his team and deserved the win. He named this defeat as their biggest loss to date, considering PSIS Semarang has never before conceded three goals in a match.

Refraining from extensive comments, Agius accepted defeat, telling press after the match, "Not much can be said. Persib Bandung played far better than we did, they deserved to win, and we must accept this defeat. Because Persib played better." Agius also declared he'd rewatch this match 3-4 times to evaluate and prepare for the upcoming games.

In addition to the loss, PSIS was challenged by the absence of Victor Guilherme dos Santos Carvalho, more widely known as Vitinho, due to an ACL injury. This significant loss could potentially sideline their player till the end of the season. Agius lamented, "We indeed lost a good player. But unfortunately, he suffered from an injury and could not play."

Agius signaled his intention to utilize the available players to the fullest and fight until the end. He stated the team would take this defeat as a lesson and make improvements. This sentiment was shared by the midfielder, Alfeandra Dewangga, who candidly commented, "Well, from me there is not much to say. The point is PSIS performed very poorly in this match, and Persib Bandung deservedly won."
