Olivier Giroud announced he will leave AC Milan at the end of the season

French forward Olivier Giroud announced through the club's official media that he will leave AC Milan at the end of the season and move to Major League Soccer (MLS).

Giroud stated: "The next two matches will be my last for Milan. My career will continue in MLS. I am proud of everything I have done during my three seasons at Milan. It is time to announce this now. So yes, my story with Milan will end this year, but Milan will always be in my heart."

The 37-year-old Giroud started his career at Grenoble and rose to fame at Montpellier. After helping Montpellier win the Ligue 1 title in the 2011-12 season, Giroud joined Arsenal, making 253 appearances, scoring 105 goals, and providing 37 assists. He won 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields with the Gunners. In January 2018, Giroud moved to Chelsea, where he made 119 appearances, scored 39 goals, and provided 14 assists, winning 1 Champions League, 1 Europa League, and 1 FA Cup. In the summer of 2021, Giroud joined AC Milan, making 130 appearances, scoring 48 goals, and providing 20 assists, winning the Serie A title in the 2021-22 season. This season, the 37-year-old Giroud has made 45 appearances for Milan, scoring 16 goals and providing 9 assists, helping the team secure Champions League qualification.

According to Romano, Giroud will join MLS side Los Angeles as a free agent next season, signing a one-and-a-half-year contract with the team.
