According to the latest report from the Daily Mail, Chelsea has banned Enzo Fernández and Mudryk from participating in the Olympics to prevent them from missing Maresca's preseason preparations.
It is reported that Chelsea has prohibited Enzo Fernández and Mudryk from participating in this summer's Olympics to ensure they don't miss the preseason work under new coach Maresca. The club wants Maresca to start the next season with a full and healthy squad, as they were plagued by injuries throughout the last season.
Both Enzo and Mudryk were ready to represent their respective countries this summer, with Argentina participating in the Copa América and Ukraine in the European Championship.
Although Chelsea respects the Argentine Football Association, they are concerned that Enzo might miss the preseason if he participates in the Copa América, with the final scheduled for July 15. If he were to take part in the Olympics, Enzo would miss the entire preseason, which is considered a crucial period for Maresca's team building.
