Inter Miami and Suarez agree on 1+1 contract

According to ESPN reports, the 36-year-old Luis Suárez is set to leave Gremio and join Inter Miami after the conclusion of the Brazilian Serie A season in December. The two parties have reached an agreement on a one-year contract with an option for an additional year, pending the final signature.

Rumors about Suárez potentially moving to Inter Miami began in the summer of this year when Suárez admitted that the demanding nature of the Brazilian league had taken a toll on his body, especially his knees. He previously had left knee meniscus surgery during his time with Liverpool in 2014 and underwent a similar procedure on his right knee while playing for Barcelona in 2020.

Following his move to Inter Miami, Suárez will reunite with three former Barcelona teammates – Messi, Busquets, and Alba. He had played alongside them for six years from 2014 to 2020 and together they won four La Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League title.
