João: "We could have done better, but everything is still wide open."

Arsenal suffered a 0-1 defeat to Porto in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage, and João expressed in an interview that the team could have performed better.



Arsenal failed to register a single shot on target throughout the match, and they were ultimately defeated by Callejon's late goal. João said, "We prepared for this match in different ways, but it didn't yield the desired result. The opponents played their style, they were aggressive, and their quality of play was high."

"However, we could have done better, and everything is still wide open. Let's see what happens in the next leg. We lacked coordination in some situations, and Porto played a compact midfield. We tried to play short passes, and if we had executed better, we could have created more opportunities."

Regarding Fabio Vieira, João said, "He's a great lad, he works hard, and everyone likes him. We all hope he continues to improve. We're disappointed about his previous injury, but now it's time for him to come back and help the team."
