Decisive Victories at 2024 London Football Awards: Declan Rice, Ange Postecoglou, and Chelsea's Duo Rise High

At the prestigious 2024 London Football Awards, Arsenal's marquee £105m signing, Declan Rice, took home the Premier League Player of the Year award. The 25-year-old English International has been a catalyst in Arsenal's Premier League title campaign and Champions League contention, contributing four goals and six assists. Rice had previously captained West Ham to Europa Conference League triumph during the last season.

The accolade comes as a testament to his prowess, as he outshone competitors including his Arsenal teammate William Saliba, West Ham's Jarrod Bowen, and Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario and Pedro Porro. Speaking at the event, Rice described it as "an honour to play for Arsenal," reflecting on the team's newfound strength and belief.

In a head-to-head with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, Tottenham Head Coach Ange Postecoglou emerged victorious, bagging the Manager of the Year award. Elling the praises of the Australian, his effective transformation of Tottenham's style of play, and guiding them towards Champions League qualification right from summer, were underlined.


Chelsea's youngsters also had an evening of triumph. Cole Palmer, a £40m acquisition from Manchester City, pocketed the Men's Young Player of the Year following his splendid tally of 14 goals in 32 appearances for Chelsea. The Blues' performance at the event further shone through their women's team. Lauren James secured the Women's Super League Player of the Year while teammate Aggie Beever-Jones was awarded the Women's Young Player of the Year.
